VACCINATION SERVICES
INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL
Whether you’re going to Mexico or Monaco, Mozambique or Madrid, you need more than a passport to travel outside the United States.
Long before you start thinking about buying a voltage adapter, you need to think about your health and safety. At least two months before you travel, schedule a travel consultation with Visiting Nurse Association, St. Louis's leading international travel health and immunization provider.
VNA will work with you and your health care professional to ensure your utmost safety from disease and injury while traveling abroad. VNA's extensively trained staff are dedicated to providing patients the most up-to-date travel health information and vaccination counseling.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention classify vaccines for travelers into three categories: routine, recommended, and required. VNA’s travel health experts can discuss the vaccines in each of these categories, the diseases they prevent, and any possible side effects, to help you decide what is right for you and your destination.
Most vaccines take time to become effective, and some vaccines must be given in a series over a period of days or weeks. Please schedule your travel consultation at least two months before your trip to ensure maximum effectiveness.
If you’re traveling sooner than two months from now, you should still seek consultation. You could benefit from vaccines or medications and other information about how to protect yourself from illness and injury while traveling.
VNA convenient services include:
- Registered Nurses trained in travel health
- Pre-travel health counseling and recommendations
- Comprehensive Travax™ Traveler Health Report, including information on travel warnings, potential hazards, and political tensions in the country or region that is your destination
- Malaria information

Appointments are recommended for travel counseling and vaccinations. Please call (314) 513-9922.
